The Comics

Get Ready to Feast, Book Munchers!

Dragon and Goat is a full page comic series and each book is a self contained adventure (and sometimes two!) from searching for Pi-rat treasure to ripping holes in and trying to repair space-time. You can jump into the adventures pretty much in any order (but for the purists we have a reading guide below!), so click through below or hop over to the Ye’ Olde Shoppe to grab your paper copy!

The most recent book Thyme Bandit was Kickstarted into existence, following the sparktacular success of the S’Parktacular S’Particles, the first Dragon and Goat book designed entirely as a full-page comic.

The rest of the books (we’re calling the “Dragon and Goat Adventures” now) grew out of Dragon and Goat’s 6 year run in print in newspapers featuring serial stories that spanned, sometimes, several months of comic strips. In these books the original horizontal four panels are given more room to breathe on the full page. These especially make for easy reading for early comic readers and serve as good starting points for the series.

All the books evolved out of the 2 earliest books in the series Into the Jelly and An Utter Dimension which were more of your traditional comic strip anthologies and while they’re fun reads and packed with stories- they’re not always the most kid appropriate, depending on what you call “kid-appropriate!”

Dragon and Goat

These books were created entirely as full-page comics.

Thyme Bandit

In The Thyme Bandit, Goat’s prized rutabagas go missing and Detective Dragon takes the case. The pair stake out the community garden with Magnet their robotic dog, but when he goes missing too, Dragon and Goat dive underground to catch the thief. Will they find their metal buddy or discover a much more sinister scheme hatching underground?

The ninth book in the Dragon and Goat series, The Thyme Bandit marks the 15th anniversary of Dragon and Goat’s debut in comics. The comic that began as a daily comic strip in newspapers running 5 days a week for six years, is now a full-page all ages comic for people who like to think (and laugh).

SparktacularSparticles-title

In The S’Parktacular S’Particles Dragon gets bored between free-lance dragooning gigs, and he tags along with Goat to Argonne National Laboratory where Goat is a Research Intern. When asked to stay in Goat’s office, Dragon obviously can’t sit still and goes off exploring on his own, finding his way into the highly super secret labs where he accidentally releases the S’Parktacular S’Particles. The four super cute yet super destructive super girls may just very well break the universe while playing with it, unless Goat can stitch it back together!
